Data Platform Engineering Director, SG - Airwallex

The Role:
As the Data Engineering Director, you will oversee the strategy, architecture, development, and operation of Airwallex's data and AI platforms. You will play a pivotal role in influencing data-driven and AI-powered decision-making processes. A key aspect of your role will also include building a high-performing team that excels in a fast-paced environment. Your leadership will be critical in mentoring the team, promoting a culture of innovation, and driving technical excellence.

Qualifications：
● Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
● Minimum of 8 years experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
● Successful track records in transforming an organization into a data-driven organization.
● Expertise in big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
● GCP experience is preferred, but AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront, etc.) with docker and Kubernetes are great too.
● Proven track record in technical mentorship and leadership.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills.
● Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
● Flexibility to work across global time zones is required.
● Exposure to working on high-volume distributed systems.
● Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures.
● Previous experience in FinTech is a plus.
