This is a brand new role to join our growing team that will partner with Airwallex employees and managers across the US region. You will provide tactical and strategic expert guidance and data-driven insights to help people leaders achieve growth objectives and drive a high performance, engaged culture. This is an ideal role for someone who likes to build things from the ground up, take on key projects and likes to execute. By forming effective relationships with people across the business you will drive forward new initiatives, resolve blockers to success and advocate for improvements at both a local and global level.

The People Operations Partner/HR Generalist supports overall HR functions and objectives. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance with relevant employment laws.

Responsibilities include:
Onboarding:
* Manage the onboarding process 
* Collaborate with hiring managers for onboarding plans
* Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations

Employee Relations:
* Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations when necessary
* Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters
* Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement

Performance Management:
*Support the performance process
* Provide feedback and guidance on performance improvement

Benefits Administration:
* Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, including the commuter benefits program and LOA 
* Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues

Training and Development:
* Identify training needs and coordinate training programs
* Help facilitate training sessions on various HR-related topics such as performance cycle training and engagement survey results

HR Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws
* Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations
* Prepare and maintain HR records and documentation

HR Policies and Procedures:
* Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures
* Ensure consistent application of policies across the organization

HR Generalist/Business Partnering: 
* Partner with and coach managers to build high performing and engaged teams
* Work with our PEO on processing the US payroll twice a month (semi-monthly) * Provide coaching on matters including leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, career development
* Provide coaching on matters including leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, career development
* Work with our immigration law firm to process and manage all immigration cases and mobility cases for the US
* Reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day employee management and understand when to escalate issues
* Partner with the People Team across the globe to gain alignment on people philosophy and programs, and localize programs as needed
* Participate in performance reviews and help identify and develop talent throughout the organization
* Be the People Partner working closely with multiple department leaders in the US
* Partner with and coach managers to build high-performing and engaged teams
* Ensure that any employee relations issues are identified, reported, investigated and resolved and help manage case tracker to ensure all issues are resolved and documented 
* Reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day employee management and understanding when to escalate issues
* Provide coaching on matters including leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, career development
* Partner with the People Team across the globe to gain alignment on people philosophy and programs where achievable and localize programs as needed
* Participate in performance reviews and help identify and develop talent throughout the organization

What you bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field such as psychology 
* Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role, such as a Junior HRBP or Associate HRBP
* Knowledge of basic HR practices and employment laws
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
* Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
* Proficient in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and GSuite 
* Knowledge of payroll processes for the US
* Experience with HR software and tools 
* Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a huge plus
