About the team
The Corporate Security team is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Stripes. We are a multi-disciplinary team with a global footprint. Our remit covers delivery of Security Operations, Security Technology & Infrastructure, Business Continuity & Crisis Management, Executive Protection and Threat & Protective Intelligence. This role reports directly to the Head of Threat and Protective Intelligence.
What you’ll do
You will serve as an experienced manager in the field of Protective Intelligence, with keen critical thinking skills and a demonstrated track record of successfully managing and leading protective intelligence operations, programs and initiatives. You will be standing up the Protective Intelligence function and designing and effectively implementing protective intelligence collection, processing, reporting, analysis and reporting standards. This role will have an outsized impact in shaping the Corporate Security function at a rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for independent and creative problem-solving; possesses strong analytical skills; works well within a team; is an exceptional oral and written communicator; has excellent decision-making skills; has a high-level of integrity and understands how to manage confidential information.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute protective intelligence operations
- Be responsible for identifying, tracking and regularly reporting threat information
- Produce and maintain threat, vulnerability and risk assessments
- Manage vendors, contract staffing and ancillary services
- Drive business value through vendor quality, reliability and customer service
- Coordinate and lead contract protective intelligence and related staffings
- Oversee all aspects of protective intelligence production and dissemination
- Help lead cross-functional protective efforts for events, travel and special projects
- Partner with Incident Manager during emergencies to facilitate on-the-ground support
- Conduct comprehensive after action reviews to identify and implement best practices and lessons learned
- Develop and lead Protective Intelligence training for a variety of internal stakeholder groups
- Develop and refine associated policies, procedures, and other documentation

Minimum requirements
- Be based in our US Headquarters, South San Francisco
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g. Political Sciences, Geopolitics, International Relations, Security Risk Management)
- You have a demonstrated history of standing up a Protective Intelligence function
- You possess 5+ years of experience in a Protective Intelligence role
- You have comprehensive international expertise with a strong intelligence network
- You have an extensive background in OSINT tradecraft
- You have experience with relevant intelligence databases, systems and tools
- You have direct experience managing the security risks associated with executives, celebrities or UHNW individuals
- You are resilient and able to adapt to dynamic and fast paced, demanding environments
- You possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and are able to communicate at the appropriate level for a given audience
Preferred qualifications
- You hold current Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS, Inc, Certified Threat Manager (CTM) as accredited by the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals or similar
- Current member of Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), ASIS, Association of International Risk Intelligence Professionals (AIRIP) or similar
- You have attained a Master’s degree or equivalent in Intelligence Studies, Criminology Justice, International Relations or similar
- You possess 7+ Years’ experience in Protective Intelligence, Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations or related field that is closely related to conducting threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response
- You have military or intelligence community experience
- You have experience working in a multinational technology company
