Financial Systems Manager - TripActions

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Anaplan Model Builder to join our growing FP&A team. In this role, you will be integral in supporting our Anaplan Lead by designing, developing, and maintaining Anaplan models and contributing to the early development of an Anaplan COE at Navan. You will partner closely with various cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into efficient and scalable solutions on the Anaplan platform. You will also have the opportunity to perform other FP&A related tasks such as working with your business partners on understanding their operations and objectives, develop/maintain budget and forecast, track progress through various reporting, and provide deep insights and analysis to be an overall trusted advisor to your business partners.  

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum Anaplan Level 3 Model Builder Certification (Solution Architect Certification or greater preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years experience with Anaplan model building (Anaplan end-to-end project implementation experience related to FP&A use cases preferred).
• Strong understanding of FP&A concepts and processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into Anaplan solutions.
• Clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to effectively work independently

What You’ll Do:

Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Accounting, Tax, People Analytics, Talent, and Data Integrations) to understand their requirements and align Anaplan models with business needs. Effectively communicate and manage expectations for successful delivery.

Model Design, Development, and Maintenance

• Support the Anaplan Lead to gather requirements, design, build, and maintain existing and new complex models to optimize Anaplan performance and user experience
• Develop intricate calculations, formulas, and logic in Anaplan models, supporting financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
• Perform testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensure optimal performance, and maximize Anaplan usability
• Provide technical/application support and troubleshooting for Anaplan models, working closely with stakeholders to resolve any system-related problems.
• Assist the Anaplan Lead with other model-building related or ad hoc tasks.

Data Integration: 

• Partner with the Data Integrations team and various application owners to assist with managing existing and developing new integrations - while ensuring data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and data governance best practices.
• Experience integrating with Workday, Greenhouse, NetSuite, and Salesforce preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL preferred. 

Documentation Management 

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Anaplan models, including design, mappings, formulas, assumptions, and business rules.

Continuous Learning: 

• Stay updated on new Anaplan features, functionalities, and best practices, expanding knowledge and improving model building skills.

Non-Anaplan / Other FP&A Related Tasks 

• Work closely with business partners to understand their business objectives, pain points, and operations
• Assist with developing and updating budget/forecast for their business partners
• Track progress through monthly and quarterly variance reporting. 
• Refine and update budget/forecast assumptions and inputs in Anaplan models used for operational budgeting
• Develop insightful analysis for their business partners on their business performance
