What we’re looking for:

We're seeking an Accounting Manager with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, complemented by at least 6 years of progressive accounting experience. The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant or has an equivalent qualification, demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel, familiar with major ERP systems, and has a good understanding of Malaysian and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential, coupled with a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and an aptitude for learning.

What you’ll accomplish: 

• You will own the Treasury process including preparing the cash position, cash forecast, transfer and payments to employees, vendors and suppliers. 

• You will be responsible for the preparation of bank, credit card and intercompany reconciliations and investigate on unreconciled items 
• You will facilitate and manage the preparation and review of corporate taxes support, including but not limited to tax estimates, returns filings, and notices
• You will be responsible for the filing and recording of sales and use taxes and franchise tax
• You will be involved in the completion of month-end and year-end close, including preparation of month-end schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations. 
• You will ensure that the financial statements are in compliance with the Malaysian and US GAAP and other applicable financial reporting standards
• You will monitor and report on technical accounting issues and developments, including researching and reviewing the impact of new accounting guidance
• You will be in charge of the preparation of technical accounting memos for auditor review and be the main point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting matters
• You will offer support and training to the accounting team on implementation of new accounting guidelines, regulations or policies
• You will assist in ad hoc projects and tasks as and when required. 

About you: 

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study
• You have more than 6 years of proven experience in similar capacity or roles 
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• You have experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills 
• You are well versed with Malaysian and US GAAP and its application  
• You have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently  

Bonus points: 

• You have a professional qualification of CA, CPA, ACCA, MIA, or equivalent. 
• You have prior experience working with companies governed under US GAAP
• You have proficiency with Netsuite ERP 
• You have a “roll up your sleeves” mindset, with current or prior experience working in a fast paced, collaborative, ambiguous environment, and frequently wearing more than one hat.
